We strive to provide quality services to any person experiencing chronic or dysfunctional behaviors associated with alcohol and / or drug use. We believe there are as many types of substance abusers as there are people; therefore, our treatment approaches are as diverse and individualized as the clients we serve. Engaging clients in this therapeutic process will reduce the rate of relapse and recidivism associated with substance abuse.
Philosophy
The dedicated staff of Turning Corners believes that substance abuse / dependence can be best treated with abstinence as the foundation. All methods used to facilitate the recovery process are based on a drug-free philosophy. We the staff feel that out-patient is the least restrictive modality of treatment that is flexible enough to ensure successful completion.
For those clients whose drug and / or alcohol use have resulted in legal consequences, Turning Corners provides structured, educational, and therapeutic programs which offer effective alternatives to incarceration. Turning Corners' staff recognizes that purely legal, judicial, and punitive controls in and of themselves, will not be sufficient to deal with the real issues of substance abuse. It is with this resolve that the staff of Turning Corners is committed to helping the client utilize all available resources to address their particular needs. It is our ongoing goal to be flexible and deliver a combination of resources to deal with specific needs in order to assure quality outpatient services.
Drug and Alcohol Evaluations
To determine the effects of substance use and other potential sources of problems for the client, our qualified addictions counselors conduct in-depth alcohol and drug assessments. The assessment process allows staff to determine the extent to which the client's substance abuse has interfered with his / her physical health, vocational development, social adaptation, legal involvement, and physical functioning in order to guide and offer realistic alternatives and solutions. Written reports of the assessment are available upon request.
As a service to our clients, we are willing to conduct assessments at the detention center.
