The relapse prevention program at Turning Corners is designed to address recidivist behaviors and problems associated with relapse, which enables the client to recognize signs of relapse before it occurs. The client will learn effective coping mechanisms and will be able to identify relapse triggers, as well as risky situations and people. Recognizing these cues is essential in the on-going process of recovery.
Relapse Prevention and Continuing Care
The main objective of this weekly therapeutic group is to provide the psychological support needed by the client to maintain his / her gains and improve living skills. The client's progress shall be measured in terms that are relative in nature, and shall include his / her ability to maintain employment, stable living conditions and avoid further legal altercation. This group is designed for clients who are actively pursuing recovery and are striving to achieve a high level of independent competence and coping skills.
Family Involvement
This service is designed to educate the family regarding the disease and addiction process. The family plays a vital role in the recovery process and their assistance in the client’s ongoing recovery is essential but often perplexing. During the initial assessment, the intake coordinator will assess the need for family counseling and at that time, a recommendation for treatment / referral will be determined.
